Movies that made us believe in the apocalypse

People are terrified, and many are awaiting a catastrophe because of the Coronavirus. There is no proof that COVID-19 is going to end the world, although some of us still have a feeling that the toilet paper apocalypse is knocking on the door.

Main cause of this fear is not the virus that’s killing thousands, but the films that told us fictitious stories about the end of the world. The list of movies in this genre is quite long, so let us share some of our favorites.

Movies about apocalypse

2012 – The movie was released in 2009. Inspiration for this film was the end of the Mayan calendar. According to many, Mayans calculated that the world was going to end in 2012. Of course, this prediction was false, though some people were very much terrified, awaiting the apocalypse to happen in December of 2012.

I Am Legend – One of the best movies featuring Will Smith. It was released in 2007 and we loved this film. It’s a story of a scientist Robert Neville, surviving the man-made plague and trying to find a cure.

A Quiet Place – Is another movie about the end of humanity. It was released in 2018. The film tells us about a family that must live in silence to avoid mysterious creatures that hunt anything that makes a sound.

Contagion – This movie recently terrified millions of people. Its script has a lot in common with the events happening at the present time. Director of Contagion is Steven Soderbergh. The movie was released in 2011.

Warm Bodies – This movie is proof that apocalypse is an interesting topic for most teenagers. The film tells us about the love story between a human and a zombie.

Now that we gave you some good films to watch, it’s time to remind you that what happens in movies, stays in movies. Films may have some things in common with real life. However, remember that it’s just fiction. So, keep calm – the world is not going to end.
