Emotional letter by the doctor from the front lines of COVID-19

Many doctors from all over the world have to be separated from their families because of COVID-19. Doctor Mariam Grigorashvili from Georgia is one of many. She recently published an emotional letter about how hard it is for medical workers to be apart from their families and how they need us to be a part of the solution.

“I have not seen my child since March 19. I had to say goodbye to her while she was sleeping.

Now I am living and working at the hospital and don’t see my family for their safety.

I missed my mother’s birthday for the first time in my life. Moreover, for the first in my life, I will have to celebrate eastern without my family.

My daughter has a birthday on May 1 and to be with her on this day I will have to be in quarantine for 2 weeks. After that, I will go back to work again.

Recently I was on TV and my kid was holding the screen, because she misses her mom, but can’t hug her.

I am not the only doctor who has to live like this. All of us have to be apart from our families and fight for others’ lives. We love our children and parents just as much as you do and we want to be next to our loved ones too. We also need quality sleep and rest.

And we need your help. We need all of you to help us by staying home and preventing the spread of Coronavirus”
